Spacious High Physical Support Living in Huntly

19 Delawarr Parade, Huntly is a purpose-built three-participant High Physical Support SDA home designed to balance accessibility, privacy and comfortable everyday living.

The single-storey home provides three participant bedrooms, each with its own private ensuite and robe. A separate Overnight On-Call room with its own ensuite provides dedicated space for overnight support while keeping staff accommodation distinct from participant bedrooms.

Shared areas have been arranged to give residents flexibility in how they spend their day. A generous open-plan living and dining area connects with the accessible kitchen, while a second lounge near the front of the home provides an additional place to relax, spend time with visitors or enjoy a quieter part of the house.

Accessibility is integrated throughout the home, including step-free movement, wide circulation areas, accessible bathrooms, High Physical Support bedroom provisions, emergency power infrastructure and assistive technology readiness.

More Room to Live Your Way

Connected Shared Spaces with a Separate Retreat

The main living and dining area creates a spacious shared zone at the rear of the home, with the kitchen positioned alongside it to keep cooking, dining and everyday activities naturally connected.

There is enough separation throughout the home for residents to enjoy shared time without everyone needing to use the same space. The additional front lounge offers another place to relax, watch television, meet with visitors or simply spend time away from the busier central living area.

Accessible circulation has been considered throughout the participant areas, helping mobility equipment move comfortably between bedrooms, bathrooms and shared spaces. Dimmable lighting in living areas and bedrooms also adds flexibility for different routines and preferences.

A Private Suite for Every Participant

Individual Bedrooms, Ensuites and Personal Space

Each of the three participants has a dedicated bedroom designed around the requirements of High Physical Support living.

Every participant bedroom includes its own private ensuite and robe, creating a personal area where residents can manage daily routines with greater privacy and independence. The bedrooms are positioned across different parts of the home rather than being grouped tightly together, giving each resident a stronger sense of separation within the shared environment.

Generous circulation around the bed supports wheelchair movement and personal assistance where required. The participant bedrooms also include structural and electrical provision for the installation of ceiling hoists, allowing the home to accommodate changing support needs.

Private bathrooms beside each bedroom mean residents do not need to rely on a shared participant bathroom, which can make a significant difference to privacy and everyday comfort.

An Accessible Kitchen at the Centre of Daily Life

Designed for Participation, Not Just Access

The kitchen connects directly with the main living and dining space, allowing participants to remain part of household activity whether they are preparing food, eating together or spending time with visitors.

The kitchen incorporates accessible working clearances and High Physical Support features including an accessible benchtop area, height-adjustable benchtop provision, accessible cabinetry, accessible tapware, a drawer-style dishwasher and wheelchair-friendly pantry access.

This creates a more practical environment for participants with different mobility requirements and allows the kitchen to support greater involvement in everyday routines.

A separate laundry provides another dedicated functional space within the home, while built-in storage helps keep household equipment organised and away from the main living areas.

Dedicated Overnight Support Space

Close When Needed, Separate When Not

A dedicated Overnight On-Call room is incorporated into the home for overnight support.

The OOA area is separate from the participant bedrooms and includes its own ensuite. This gives support staff an appropriate place to remain overnight while helping preserve the privacy of each resident.

Its position within the home allows support to remain nearby when required without making staff accommodation part of a participant's personal suite. For SIL providers, this provides a practical balance between accessibility to residents and clear separation between participant and support spaces.

Everyday Access Beyond the Front Door

Step-Free Connections from Arrival to Home

Accessible movement begins before entering the house, with step-free access connecting the site boundary and dwelling entrance.

The home also includes internal access from the double garage, creating another practical arrival point for participants travelling by car or support vehicle.

External access areas are designed around accessible gradients, circulation and slip resistance, supporting safer movement between the dwelling and surrounding outdoor areas. The property also provides usable outdoor space around the home, giving participants the option to spend time outside without leaving their own residence.
