36 Uralba Street, Hemmant is a purpose-built High Physical Support SDA home created for two participants, with one participant accommodated in each bedroom. The single-storey residence brings together accessible private spaces, generous shared areas and dedicated support accommodation within a practical, welcoming environment.
Each participant bedroom includes a built-in robe and private accessible ensuite, providing personal storage, greater privacy and a comfortable place to manage everyday routines. An additional accessible bathroom gives the household further flexibility for support staff, visitors and changing care requirements.
The home also includes a dedicated Onsite Overnight Assistance (OOA) room, allowing overnight support to remain nearby without reducing participant privacy. Wide hallways, step-free circulation and accessible internal entry from the double garage help make movement throughout the property more straightforward.
Connected Spaces for Everyday Living
A Spacious Centre for Daily Life
The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area creates a generous central space where participants can prepare meals, relax, spend time with visitors and take part in everyday household activities.
Its connected arrangement helps reduce unnecessary barriers between the main shared areas while giving support teams clear access when assistance is required. The result is a functional living environment that remains comfortable, residential and easy to use.
Two Private Participant Retreats
Personal Space with Accessible Comfort
The home includes two participant bedrooms, each designed as a private and comfortable personal retreat. Built-in robes provide practical storage, while direct access to an accessible ensuite supports privacy and more independent personal routines.
Having a separate bedroom and bathroom for each participant helps create clearer boundaries within the shared home. Participants can enjoy their own space while continuing to benefit from shared living areas and nearby support.
An Inclusive Kitchen and Living Zone
Designed for Participation and Connection
The kitchen sits directly alongside the dining and living areas, creating an inclusive environment where participants can remain involved in cooking, conversation and daily household routines according to their preferences and support needs.
The open arrangement supports natural interaction between participants, visitors and support teams without making the home feel institutional. There is enough space for shared activities while the private participant suites provide quieter areas away from the main living zone.
Accessible Bathrooms and Practical Storage
Everyday Facilities That Work Together
Each participant bedroom connects to its own private accessible ensuite, helping simplify personal care routines and preserve dignity. A third accessible bathroom provides an additional facility for visitors, support workers or other household requirements.
The large laundry includes step-free access and additional storage, creating a practical place to manage clothing, linen and household supplies. This additional storage can help keep participant areas organised and reduce clutter throughout the home.
Dedicated Onsite Overnight Assistance
Reliable Support Without Losing Privacy
The dedicated Onsite Overnight Assistance room allows overnight support to be provided from within the home when required. This arrangement helps support workers respond efficiently while allowing participant bedrooms and personal spaces to remain separate.
For SIL providers, the inclusion of dedicated OOA accommodation supports more practical staffing arrangements and helps balance responsive assistance with participant choice, dignity and independence.
A Flexible Entry and Support Zone
Extra Space for Planning and Administration
A flexible area near the entry can be used as a study, support workspace or administration zone. This provides a useful place for documentation, planning, appointments and communication without needing to use participant bedrooms or the main living area.
Its adaptable design gives participants and SIL providers greater choice in how the space is used as household and support requirements change over time.
Covered Outdoor Living
A Relaxed Extension of the Home
The covered outdoor pavilion provides a sheltered place for participants to relax, meet with family and friends or enjoy supported activities outside.
This additional living area creates more choice in how participants spend their time at home. It can support quiet relaxation, social connection and everyday outdoor enjoyment while remaining conveniently connected to the residence.
