A Purpose-Built 2-Participant High Physical Support Home

Ceiling Hoist Provision | Private Ensuites | OOA Included

62 Bayberry Street, Armstrong Creek is a purpose-built 2-participant SDA home designed under the High Physical Support design category. This newly completed single-storey residence supports participants with complex physical support needs while still feeling calm, modern, and comfortable to live in.

The home includes two participant bedrooms, private accessible ensuites, a dedicated OOA room, generous shared living areas, an accessible kitchen, a covered alfresco area, step-free access, emergency power provisions, and future ceiling hoist capacity to participant bedrooms.

Everyday Living at the Centre

Open, Connected and Designed for Ease

The central living, dining, and kitchen area has been designed to feel open and welcoming while supporting wheelchair accessibility and easy movement throughout the home. The layout allows participants, support workers, and visitors to move comfortably without the space feeling crowded.

The open-plan living area connects directly to the alfresco, creating a simple indoor and outdoor flow for everyday relaxation, visitors, and shared household routines. The kitchen is positioned beside the living and dining area, making it easier for participants to stay connected to daily activities.

The kitchen includes accessible design features such as clear circulation space, accessible bench provisions, a side-opening wall oven, drawer-style dishwasher, reachable controls, and a wheelchair-accessible pantry.

Private Participant Suites

Spacious Bedrooms with Built-In High Support Provisions

Both participant bedrooms are designed as proper private rooms with generous circulation space, robe storage, and direct access to private ensuites. Each bedroom has been planned to support comfort, privacy, and assistive technology needs.

The bedrooms include provision for future installation of 250kg ceiling hoists, with engineered structure and power included for hoist support. This makes the home well suited to participants with higher physical support needs.

Accessible Ensuite Bathrooms

Safe, Private and Purpose-Built for Daily Routines

Each participant has access to their own accessible ensuite, helping support privacy, dignity, and independence in daily routines. The bathrooms include step-free showers, accessible circulation space, reinforced walls for future grabrail installation, slip-resistant flooring, and accessible fittings.

The bathroom layouts are designed to allow support workers to assist safely when needed while still maintaining a comfortable residential feel. A separate accessible WC is also included within the home for visitors and support staff.

Overnight Support

Close When Needed, Separate When Privacy Matters

The home includes a dedicated Overnight On-Call room so support can be available overnight when required. The OOA room is positioned separately from the participant bedrooms, allowing support to remain nearby without compromising participant privacy.

This layout gives participants the reassurance of support close by while still allowing them to enjoy their own private spaces and daily independence.

Outdoor Connection

Covered Alfresco Living with Easy Step-Free Access

The covered alfresco area connects directly to the main living space, giving participants an easy outdoor area for relaxing, socialising, or quiet time. The outdoor areas are designed to be practical, low maintenance, and easy to access.

The property includes accessible pathways from the front boundary and parking areas to the home entry, supporting safer movement into and around the property.

Built-In Accessibility

High Physical Support Features Integrated from the Start

This home has been purpose-built to meet High Physical Support SDA requirements. Its accessibility features include step-free access, wide internal circulation, accessible kitchen and bathroom layouts, slip-resistant flooring, reinforced bathroom walls, consistent switch and power point heights, dimmable lighting to living areas and bedrooms, reverse-cycle air conditioning, emergency power provisions, high-speed internet capability, and future ceiling hoist provision to participant bedrooms.

These features have been incorporated into the original build rather than added later, helping the home feel natural, comfortable, and residential while still supporting complex daily support needs.
