High Physical Support SDA | Two Participant Home + OOA | Private Ensuites + Separate Living Areas
High Physical Support Living With Room to Breathe
4 Turkeybush Way, Zuccoli is a purpose-built two-participant SDA home certified under the High Physical Support design category. The single-storey home combines accessible design with generous living spaces, private participant areas and a dedicated Overnight On-Call room.
Both participant bedrooms have their own private ensuite and are positioned in separate areas of the home, helping each person maintain a greater sense of privacy and personal space. At the centre of the home, the kitchen, dining and family area creates a welcoming shared environment, while a separate lounge provides another place to relax or spend time independently.
Accessibility is built into the home through step-free movement, wide doorways, generous circulation spaces, accessible bathrooms, High Physical Support kitchen features, assistive technology provisions and infrastructure for future ceiling hoists.
A Home Built Around Everyday Choice
Shared Living With More Space and Flexibility
The main kitchen, dining and family area creates a spacious central hub for everyday life. It provides room for cooking, meals, visitors and shared activities while maintaining the circulation space needed for comfortable movement through the home.
A separate lounge gives participants another living environment away from the main family area. This creates greater flexibility when participants have different routines, want some quiet time or would simply prefer to use separate spaces.
Reverse-cycle air conditioning is provided to participant bedrooms and living areas, helping maintain comfortable conditions throughout the year. High-speed internet capability and Wi-Fi coverage are also incorporated throughout the home.
Private Bedrooms, Personal Space
Comfort, Accessibility and Independence
The two participant bedrooms are located in different parts of the home, creating greater separation between private spaces. Each bedroom has room for a queen-size bed, accessible circulation and dedicated storage.
Both participant bedrooms have been structurally prepared for the future installation of a constant-charge ceiling hoist with a maximum 250 kg load capacity. This gives the home greater flexibility to respond to changing mobility and support requirements over time.
Each bedroom also connects directly to its own ensuite, allowing personal care routines to take place within the participant's private area rather than through a shared bathroom.
Ensuites Designed for Daily Routines
Private Bathrooms With Accessible Circulation
The kitchen is integrated directly with the dining and family area, helping participants remain involved in cooking, meals and everyday household activities.
High Physical Support features include accessible circulation in front of benches and appliances, an accessible work surface, a height-adjustable benchtop, wheelchair-accessible pantry provision and accessible controls. The kitchen also incorporates a drawer-style dishwasher and practical cabinetry hardware designed to make storage easier to use.
The open connection between the kitchen and living area allows participants to take part in daily activities without feeling separated from the rest of the household.
Support Close By, With Privacy Maintained
A Dedicated Overnight On-Call Space
The home includes a separate Overnight On-Call room near the main entry, providing dedicated accommodation for overnight support when required. Its position keeps the OOA area away from the participant bedrooms while still allowing support to remain close by. An adjacent powder room further supports practical overnight staffing without requiring regular use of participant bathroom facilities.
This arrangement creates clearer separation between support functions and participant living spaces, helping the home maintain a more private and residential feel.
Outdoor Areas for Everyday Enjoyment
More Than One Way to Spend Time Outside
A tiled verandah connects directly with the main family area, creating an additional space for outdoor meals, visitors or relaxing outside. The home also includes uncovered decking areas near the participant bedroom zones, along with landscaped areas around the property. These separate outdoor connections give participants more choice over where they spend time and provide alternatives to using the main shared verandah.
Step-free transitions and accessible paths of travel support easier movement between indoor and outdoor areas.
